Speaking 1 Topic: Is exposure to art important?

Some people feel that children need exposure to art and skills, such as drawing and painting. Others feel this is not important. What do you think?

In the 15 seconds I have for note-taking, here's what I will jot down:

  1. Important
  2. Creativity
  3. Great career options
  4. Friend who became an internationally renowned artist

Here's my detailed response:

I certainly believe that exposure to art is very important for children. First, in my opinion, children need opportunities to explore their creativity from a very young age. This helps them communicate their innermost feelings and helps them grow into healthy adults. Also, I believe that art is a wonderful career option. Today, numerous opportunities are available in user interface design, graphic design, game design, commercial art, and other similar areas. Exposure to art gives children the required knowledge and skills to explore such avenues. A friend of mine, whose parents were doctors, showed remarkable creative abilities as a child. In spite of their aspirations to see their daughter become a doctor, her parents encouraged her to explore her artistic skills. Today, she is an internationally renowned, award-winning artist.
